Coffee & Bark — Hazel Park

Our Take

When the original Coffee & Bark outgrew its own dream, a second one followed — and this time Hazel Park got it. Opened in late 2025 on John R, the newer sibling runs the same beloved playbook: handcrafted coffee, pastries, sandwiches, coworking, an event space, and the signature BarkEasy dog zone, this time placed up front where you can watch the pups through the window. The menu carries treats for the dogs, too, so nobody in the family goes home empty-handed.

What makes it worth a note beyond the caffeine is what it signals: Hazel Park’s John R strip keeps quietly adding reasons to linger, and a dog-friendly, work-friendly coffee shop is exactly the kind of anchor that does it (Matt & Moe’s Italian Beef and Doug’s Delight Ice Cream are right across the street). Bring your laptop, bring your dog, stay a while. We’ve got it on our list as a welcome new fixture in Hazel Park, and a sibling to the lingering-friendly Berkley original.
