Coffee & Bark — Berkley

Coffee & Bark solved a problem every dog owner knows: you want good coffee and you don’t want to leave your dog in the car. Opened on Coolidge in 2023, it bills itself as Michigan’s first full-fledged coffee shop built to welcome dogs indoors — not just on a patio, but in a dedicated interior room called BarkEasy that the owners actually engineered with the county health department to get right. Out front it’s a proper specialty coffee shop with pastries, sandwiches, and a genuine “third place” streak — WiFi, flexible seating, a coworking room, an event space for the baby showers and birthday parties of the world. Out back, your dog gets its own space (and its own menu of treats).

It’s run by two guys with an obvious love for people, dogs, and coffee, and the community energy shows. Come to work solo, meet a friend, or finally take the dog on the coffee date it deserves. We’ve got it on our list as one of the more genuinely useful additions to Berkley — and if you’re doing a coffee tour, Chazzano is just a few minutes away.
