Coffee & Bark — Hazel Park

Coffee & Bark is a spacious, simple, mod little coffee shop with a very cute idea at its center: a dedicated indoor zone for people who want to bring their dogs along. There are two entrances—one for everyone and a neighboring entry for guests headed into the dog-friendly section. Dogs stay in that designated area, get a treat, and can hang with their people while the rest of the shop remains pup-free.

We stopped in midmorning on a Friday and immediately saw why it works beyond the dog factor. One person was settled into a high-top with a laptop; a small group had claimed the back room for a casual meeting. It has that useful “third place” feeling without trying too hard.

Mike ordered a good old black iced coffee, and Andrea went for a lavender latte—a pretty, lightly floral departure from my usual espresso at home. Service was friendly and fairly quick, street parking was available, and the whole stop felt easy. Whether you are grabbing coffee, working for an hour, holding a low-key meeting, or bringing your dog on an outing, this is a smart Hazel Park addition—and a worthy sibling to the Berkley original.
