Lone Light Spirits

Our Take

Lone Light is a Michigan craft distillery, with spirits made at its Ferndale production facility, and this tasting room in the heart of downtown Farmington is where they get shown off properly. The cocktails and mocktails are artistically made, built on house-made syrups, fresh ingredients and the house spirits: an American dry gin, a straight bourbon finished in mead casks, Great Lakes State vodka, a coffee liqueur made with locally roasted coffee and a Caribbean-blend dark rum.

The cocktail menu rotates monthly, so think of what we had as a snapshot. The gin-forward Bramble & Thyme and Pear Necessities were both smooth and fresh, the Harvest Punch packed a lot of flavor, and the favorite of the night was the Orchard State of Mind. There are tasting flights and bottled drinks too, and for anyone who falls hard, a membership program for spirits enthusiasts.  Note that there were not many drink images because to be honest – well we were thirsty – and half way through one, I remembered to take a pic.

The room is modern, small and cozy. Food is light snacks only, but you’re welcome to bring your own, which makes it an easy add to a night out in Farmington. Park in the public lot across the street. Beer drinker in your group? Farmington Brewing Company is also in town, so nobody has to compromise.
