TreeRunner Adventure Park

Our Take

Tucked into the woods on the Oakland University campus, TreeRunner is Rochester Hills‘ answer to the question “what do we do with the kids (or the team, or the birthday crew) that isn’t another movie?” It’s a full-scale aerial adventure park: eight rope-and-bridge trails climbing from beginner to genuinely white-knuckle, ziplines that include the 250-foot Golden Grizzly mega-zip, and a continuous-belay harness system so you’re clipped in the whole way. Newer additions have turned it into a proper destination — a harness-free treetop Bounce Forest of interconnected nets for little ones, a Little Zipper junior course, gem mining, and a shaded 27-hole forest mini-golf. It’s the rare outing that tires everyone out in the best way, works for a wide range of ages and nerve levels, and happens to be beautiful while it does it. On our list for active afternoons and low-key-competitive group days.
