Sabbath Coffee Roasters

Our Take

Sabbath is the kind of small-batch coffee roaster that makes a downtown feel like it’s arrived. Working out of a bright storefront on 14 Mile, this Clawson roaster sources and roasts its own microlot beans and has picked up an HOUR Detroit “Best of” nod along the way — but it wears the specialty-coffee seriousness lightly, with a playful streak (the oat-milk frozen latte has a genuine cult following, and the seasonal drinks lean fun over fussy). It’s warm, casual, and dog-friendly, with wifi and the low hum that makes it easy to linger over a laptop or a slow catch-up.

Come for a proper cortado, a bag of beans to take home, or a frozen latte on a hot afternoon — it’s open every day until mid-afternoon, so it’s a morning-and-lunch kind of spot, not a nightcap. We’ve got it on our list as a genuinely good solo-coffee or work-session anchor in downtown Clawson.
