The Hideout

Our Take

The Hideout is exactly what it sounds like, and better than it needs to be. This longtime Clawson dive-slash-sports-bar on 14 Mile has the full kit — dozens of TVs (including a 110-inch screen for the big games), pool tables, dart boards, a vintage jukebox, keno, a wall of beer signs, and a giant Captain Morgan statue keeping watch. It’s dark, unpretentious, and reliably fun, the kind of place you write off from the parking lot and then never stop going back to.

Here’s the twist locals keep confessing: the cheeseburger is genuinely, surprisingly great — people come for the game and leave planning their next burger run. Cheap drinks, late hours, and zero attitude round it out. It’s not fancy, and that’s precisely the point. We’ve got it on our list as Clawson’s definitive dive done right — proof the town’s drinking scene has a little of everything, and a genuinely good hang in Clawson.
