Bonoful Sweets & Cafe (the name means “a bouquet of flowers” in Bengali) opened after a year and a half of planning by three friends from the Sylhet region of Bangladesh who met through a money-transfer business in Hamtramck before going into the restaurant world together. The extensive menu spans Indo-Chinese specialties, Bangladeshi and Pakistani standards, biryani, curries, and a full case of sweets made on-site, all served in a dining room designed with Middle Eastern architectural touches, private booths, and a room that can seat up to 15 for private events.
The biryani consistently draws the strongest praise — both chicken and lamb versions come up again and again in reviews — alongside a ginger-cardamom tea that regulars specifically call out. It’s the kind of place built for both a quick weekday lunch and a bigger group dinner, with free wifi and outlets making it workable for a casual meeting too.
On our radar for one of the more ambitious menus on the Conant corridor, or for biryani that keeps people coming back specifically for it.
