Proof the scene keeps building: Marble Bar opened in 2015 inside a former marble factory in New Center, on a then-quiet block that once housed a club called the Eagle. Founder Raphael Blake and crew turned it into one of the city’s great modern techno rooms — an “intimate disco oasis” with a custom Void sound system tuned for warmth and depth, an indoor floor, and a patio built for dancing past dawn.
House and techno are the heart of it, but Marble has thrown its doors open to punk, metal, disco, and everything between, in the inclusive Detroit spirit. On Movement weekend it’s a marquee afterparty destination pulling international heavyweights; the rest of the year it’s where the city’s deep dance community gathers. The factory’s gone; the resonance stayed.
