Lei Ting’s Blue Pearl is downtown Milford’s answer for when the craving is Asian and you want it done with actual ambition. It’s the latest chapter for chef Tom Lin, who first opened Lei Ting here back in 2000, stepped away, and came back to elevate the whole thing — he brings three decades in kitchens and a handful of Food Network appearances, and it shows in the range. The menu roams confidently across sushi and ramen, Chinese classics, Thai, and dim sum, built on from-scratch sauces and fresh ingredients, with a full bar and locally-sourced desserts to round out the night. Regulars rave about the walnut shrimp, the hot-and-sour soup, and the sushi; the room is stylish and comfortable, squarely in the middle of Main Street’s restaurant row. It’s the kind of one-stop Asian spot that covers a whole table’s worth of different cravings, which makes it a genuinely useful — and genuinely good — addition to Milford‘s lineup. On our list for sushi, a cocktail, and a table that keeps everyone happy.
