Sidecar Slider Bar

Our Take

Right on the main drag of the Village in Grosse Pointe, Sidecar Slider Bar pulls off a neat trick: it’s cozy and a little quaint, and it’s also a full-on sports bar, with an arcade room in the back to boot. Sidecar got its start in Birmingham and has since spread across Metro Detroit (the Farmington location has been on our radar for a while), but this was our first time at any of them.

The move here is mix-and-match, so we each ordered two. Andrea went ahi tuna and smokehouse; the ahi tasted fresh, and the wasabi in the sauce gave it a nice little kick. Mike went classic with the Drive-Thru and the Double Trouble. We split an order of chili cheese fries, which set the tone nicely and, frankly, did half the work. Fair warning: two sliders sounds like a light lunch. It is not. We were tapping out well before we expected to.

Andrea settled in with a gin cocktail, Mike with a Bloody Mary, and college football played on the screens while we worked our way through it all. A pretty solid formula for a fall Saturday, and a good excuse to wander the rest of Grosse Pointe afterward.
