Rocco’s Pizza and Italian Kitchen

Our Take

Rocco’s is one of Oak Park’s newer additions, and it landed with the kind of word-of-mouth that spreads fast: New Jersey-style, hand-stretched pizza plus a full deck of Italian-American comfort classics from a family with Jersey roots. The pies are the headline — thin, foldable, made with fresh ingredients, with specialty options like the fiery Diavlo alongside the traditionalist’s cheese-and-pepperoni — but the kitchen also turns out chicken parm, stuffed shells Florentine, lasagna, garlic knots, and hefty subs. One transplanted New Yorker on the reviews put it bluntly: the best pizza they’d had since leaving the city.

It’s dine-in, takeout, delivery, and catering, which makes it an easy weeknight-family or feed-the-group answer. Just note the hours skew evening — it opens at 3 and is closed Mondays — so it’s a dinner plan, not a lunch one. We’ve got it on our list as a welcome, genuinely good addition to Oak Park‘s table, and a solid pick when you need to keep the whole family happy.
