Fittingly for one of the metro’s most polished downtowns, the Birmingham Farmers Market is a well-run, well-stocked Sunday affair set in a downtown parking lot just off North Old Woodward. It runs seasonally from spring into late fall, drawing Michigan farmers, growers, and artisan vendors with produce, plants, flowers, baked goods, and specialty foods. The Sunday timing is a nice perk — parking downtown is free that day — and once you’ve shopped, you’re steps from Birmingham’s cafes, boutiques, and brunch spots. It’s an easy, elevated way to do your local shopping and make a morning of it in one of Oakland County’s most walkable centers.
