Sy Thai is the downtown Birmingham Thai institution that’s been quietly feeding the neighborhood since Chef Sy opened his very first restaurant here in 1993. It’s the original of what grew into a small metro family of Sy Thais, and it still does what made it a favorite: fresh, generous, reasonably priced Thai in a casual, easygoing room, with enough range to handle every spice tolerance and dietary restriction at the table.
