The Coriander Indian Cuisine

Metro Detroit has plenty of Indian restaurants, but a genuinely good one right in Southfield is worth flagging — and The Coriander, on Telegraph, is the one locals keep calling the best around (one regular swears it beats every other place they’ve tried, Flint included). The kitchen leans Northern Indian with a Bangladeshi accent and cooks everything halal: creamy, well-balanced butter chicken, fragrant chicken and lamb biryani, saag paneer, korma, a proper madras, and mango lassi to cool it all down, with the spice dialed to whatever you can handle. It’s a clean, friendly, sit-down-or-carry-out kind of spot where the staff will happily steer a first-timer — polished enough for a real meal, easy enough for a weeknight craving. Come for the biryani and butter chicken; they’re the reasons people become regulars. On our list as Southfield‘s go-to for Indian.
