O Grizzly’s Bar & Bistro

O Grizzly’s opened in late 2024 right at Oakland University’s doorstep, and it wears the connection proudly — the name nods to OU’s Golden Grizzlies, the wall murals were painted by an OU student, and the bar donates a slice of every student’s check back to the university. Past the school spirit, it’s a genuinely fun sports-bar-slash-bistro: a full bar with craft cocktails people actually remember, Michigan beers, a wall of screens for the game, live jazz nights, and a from-scratch kitchen that punches above bar-food expectations (the tandoori wings, roasted in a clay oven, get specifically raved about, as does the barbecue-chicken pizza).

It’s young, lively, and community-minded in a way that’s easy to root for, though as a newer spot it’s still finding its consistency. Come for a game-day hangout, an easy group night, or wings-and-a-cocktail after work. We’ve got it on our list as a spirited, welcoming group spot in Auburn Hills — townie energy, campus heart.
