Motor City Float

Our Take

Motor City Float specializes in sensory-deprivation flotation therapy — you climb into a private, saltwater-filled tank buoyant enough that you float without effort, lights and sound optional, for a 60-minute session that regulars swear resets their whole nervous system. Beyond the float tanks, the studio also runs infrared sauna sessions, massage, and Normatec Pulse compression therapy, so it functions as a broader recovery spot, not a one-trick float bar.

Budget more than the float itself: a 60-minute session runs closer to 90 minutes once you factor in the pre- and post-float shower routine, and there’s a genuinely nice post-float lounge with complimentary tea and snacks if you want to ease back into the world slowly instead of walking straight out the door. Memberships bring the per-float cost down significantly if you’re planning to make it a habit rather than a one-off curiosity.

On our radar for the sensory-overload crowd who needs an hour of true, enforced nothing — no phone, no conversation, just water and quiet.
