Black Label Tavern

Our Take

Black Label Tavern is Milford’s grown-up gastropub — the spot for when you want tavern comfort with a little more ambition on the plate. Just off downtown on Milford Road, it does an elevated, something-for-everyone menu: a prime rib dip that regulars swear by, steak tacos, a proper Greek salad, hand-tossed pizzas, and stuffed fiocchetti (those little purse-shaped pasta) for the nights you want something a notch fancier than bar food. The real signature, though, is the patio — built with fire pits so it stays usable well past patio season, which in Michigan is no small thing. It’s warm and social without tipping into rowdy, the kind of place that works for a relaxed date, a group dinner, or a long catch-up over a good drink and a shared board. Even the dog’s welcome on the patio, treats included. On our list as the comfortable, slightly-elevated tavern that rounds out downtown Milford‘s lineup — dependable when you want a real meal and a real drink in equal measure.
