The Beverly

The Beverly is a very cute new Berkley brunch option when you want a little more occasion than a standard breakfast spot. The bar is the focal point—grand, modern, and lined with very inviting green mod stools with armrests—and the dining room has a few distinct sections, including one with fun modern wallpaper. It was a crisp, rainy Sunday morning, so we skipped the patio, but we’d happily return on a better-weather day.

We made an OpenTable reservation the day before for 10:45 a.m. and walked right in. The room was chill rather than crowded, and the whole place felt polished without being stiff. For our September-birthday brunch, we started with sparkling rosé and prosecco, then each chose a doughnut to share: strawberry with sprinkles for the birthday mood, plus blueberry. Both were good, but the savory part of brunch won.

The breakfast sandwich—ours with shaved ham—was seriously good, and my cousin Julianne joined the clean-plate club with the fried chicken sandwich. You are paying a little more for the vibe here, but the meal was genuinely lovely and the dinner menu has us curious enough to return. Park in the public lot across Beverly Boulevard.
