Three Thirteen

Our Take

Clement “Fame” Brown Jr. started airbrushing T-shirts at twelve and selling streetwear out of his trunk; today his brand, Three Thirteen — named for Detroit’s area code — is a household name and one of the Avenue of Fashion‘s anchor stores. The shop is a love letter to the city in cotton form: its own Three Thirteen line alongside local legends like Detroit Hustles Harder and Detroit vs. Everybody, plus jerseys, hats, mugs, candles, and gifts repping the Lions, Pistons, Tigers, and Wings.

Brown moved the store to Livernois in 2019 and has since expanded to a second location downtown in Parker’s Alley — but the Ave shop, with its knowledgeable, welcoming owner often on the floor, is the one that feels like home base. Even Joe Biden has stopped in.
